Best advice you’ve ever received, and do you actually follow it?

You wouldn’t worry about what people thought about you if you knew how little they actually did.

What’s (still) on your bucket list?

Writing and publishing another novel. That will be book number 4.

Favourite local restaurant, and what are you ordering?

Pot of sticky chai with almond milk at the Angry Gnome Café in Clovelly, Sydney.

If you could sit with any woman for a long lunch, who would it be and what would you ask?

Mary Magdalene – ‘were you the first woman to be officially cancelled and how did you deal with the haters?’

What helps you get into your best work zone?

Pot of chai, natural light and quiet time in my home office.

You can only pack three things in your handbag. What’s coming with you?

If I’m walking my dog, then besides my phone – I’m taking a water bottle, air pods and doggy poo bag.

Describe your perfect day off.

Sunny day. Morning yoga at Wylie’s Baths in Coogee, followed by a swim and then a walk along the coast with a good friend who makes me laugh. Then curling up with a book at the end of the day while husband makes dinner and daughters clean up (pure fantasy).

What book or podcast has made an impact on your business?

Speak Up – how to be a successful presenter and media spokesperson. The audio book is excellent too.

What’s something people may be surprised to learn about you?

I lived in Switzerland for four years and am still a bad skier.

What are you excited about next?

I am running an intensive one-day presentation and media skills masterclass for professionals on June 30th on the 28th floor of Microsoft in North Sydney (spectacular harbour views). Eight lucky people will present and be interviewed on camera on their chosen work topic and receive specific and generous feedback to immediately improve their communication skills, so they’re ready to share their expertise and stories on a panel, podcast, work interview, presentation, pitch or media interview. Can’t wait.
